Got a flood? Call a Marine

This article is actually pretty funny (not the suffering of the Haitian people, nothing funny there). Yeah, Marines (Marines!!) should stay in Haiti to help with flood relief but God forbid they should be in Iraq or Afghanistan helping THOSE people.

Sorry but my tax dollars aren't supposed to be spent on the military so it can help people in flood ravaged countries. Where's the Red Cross? What next? Mudslides in Bolivia? call the Marines. Forest fires in Thailand? Call the Marines. Old people dying from the heat in Paris? Call the Marines.

These are Marines. The finest fighting force known to mankind. They should not be used in this fashion, no matter how worthy the cause. And not when their fellow Marines are fighting and dying in Iraq and elsewhere and could use some help of their own. Sorry, Congressman, maybe you can commandeer a traffic helicopter down in Miami and fly in some supplies yourself.
